Goodbye Envoy

Goodbye Envoy.  You were a good Envoy.  Thank you for all of the camping trips, long weekends, trips to Fargo, your assistance in moving, the grocery runs, and just plain being awesome.
Not so sad to pay $120 every time to fill you up.  GAS HOG.

We made the tough decision to say adios to the beloved Envoy.  (Actually, I had no problem selling the thing but Dane LOVED his Envoy).   We sold it on CraigsList.  One inquiry and DONE.  (We've sold two other things on there...it rocks.)  One little problem.   We didn't have a clue what we wanted to buy after we handed over the keys.
But, we had a list.....
-good gas milage
-reliable
-roomy
-leather
-sunroof

We car shopped EVERY night for a week straight.  We went to EVERY car lot (some of them twice) in a 20 mile radius of our home.  We took a Ford Edge home.  We LOVED it.  I mean LOVED it.  Got buyer's remourse before we even bought it.  We ended up with a Buick Regal.  We love it.

This car shopping ordeal landed right in the middle of our deck project.  Once I figure out how to get pictures from my phone to this blog I will show you what this beauty of a deck looks like.
Now, we haven't finished it.  Dane was sent to Bismarck on flood duty for an indefinite amount of time.  So, until he gets home it will wait for us!

Happy weekend friends and family!

To blog or not to blog

Obviosuly, I have chosen not to blog lately.

Since January we've:
-gone on a vacation to the Dominican Republic
-spent some weekends in Fargo, Hope, and Chokio
-done some painting in the house
-went to Chicago for Dane's buddies 30th birthday
-sold the beloved Envoy for a more fuel efficent car
-my baby brother got married
-celebrated our 2 year anniversary
-enjoyed Post-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving with my fabulous friend
-celebrated Dane's 29th birthday
-(Jamie) started a new job: Eye Clinic surgery coordinator

We are currently:
-building a deck
-gearing up for brother #2's wedding....along with some other wonderful people's weddings
-planning another long weekend chicago get away with some friends
-an annual camping trip to Welch Village
-have a garage sale

That is the quick, easy, straight to the point update.
Now, I am going to choose to be a blogger. First of all I like to call myself a blogger. Secondly, it is a great tool to show my family, friends, co-workers, etc. what we are up to. Lastly, a place where I can look back and relive some of the times over the years.
I have spent some time reviewing my old posts. Man, those emotions came flying back when I read the posts while Dane was deployed, around the time of our wedding, and so on. Just think.....one year ago Dane was still overseas. This July brings us to the one year "reunion" date. How fast this year has gone. How wonderful this year has been. My appreciation is as strong today as the day he came home!

Have a wonderful Memorial weekend!

technical difficulties & company

Well, we've updated our computers to Windows 7. That is great and all but now I can't attach pictures to our blog. BUMMER. Dane just needs to re-install some stuff for me!

In better news.

We love having company. I enjoy getting ready to have company. Making snacks, beds, and plans.

Two weekends Nicole and her sister came to town. We had a serious blast playing Dance Revolution on the Wii! I want to run out and buy the game! I beat everyone if you were wondering! We went out to eat at El Azteca. We LOVE this resturant. The BEST Mexican food at an amazing price!

Last weekend my brother and his bride-to-be made the trip down from Fergus Falls. We went to a T-Wolves game, did some shopping at the Mall of America and hung out at our house! It was great to get to spend some time with them! :)

This weekend the Warren's are coming down! Hallie, Rick, Savannah and Trent are making the trip down from Hope! I can't wait to go with the kids to the Mall of America and watch them have a blast at Nickelodeon Universe!

Keep yours eyes peeled for pictures!

Thanks for ringing in the New Year with us: Brad, Laura, Mo, and Heather!

2011: A review and preview

I passed my COA! (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) I will offically have been working in this field for 10 years this March. I really enjoy my job and love working with the veterans!

We are headed to the Dominican Republic in March for a belated honeymoon. We are really looking forward to a week away together. This will be our first vacation alone!

Dane's man-cave has been put to good use! We've had some friends and family over to watch some football games in the said "man-cave".

We had a garbage disposal installed and I LOVE IT!

In May (5/9/11) we will be married for 2 years.

This summer both of my little brothers will be tying the knot. May and June will be exciting months!

We are planning on building a deck this summer! That will be a great addition for entertaining! :)

I turn 30 this September.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the new year!!
